Heidi joined us as we opened the doors of our West Village location in October 2019. Previously working in a number of general practices in NYC, Heidi has a strong skill set in both consults and surgery (and is an expert at writing SOAPs). In 2021, Heidi was promoted to Head Nurse, overseeing the nurse team in West Village. She was the pioneer of this role at Small Door and is responsible for managing our team, leadership, training, and more.

Dr. Bris works as a Managing Veterinarian in our Williamsburg location. He graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and worked to receive his NY license when he moved to the US in 2015. Mainly working in private practice, Foti is also passionate about shelter medicine. Foti brings his sense of humor and passion to his patients. He enjoys spending time with his family over the weekend.

Komal joined Small Door as a Nurse with previous experience as an RVT, but she quickly found her stride in leadership as the Regional Manager for our NYC practices. She enjoys working closely with both the MX and Medical teams to make sure our patients are comfortable and stress free during their visits.

Dr. Bourjaily leads the team at Small Door’s Upper East Side location as our Managing Veterinarian. She attended Ross University, and spent a year at Kansas State University for her clinical studies. Upon graduation she worked as a small animal medicine and surgery intern, and after 4 years she transitioned to shelter medicine. Michelle is Fear Free certified, and takes a special interest in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and behavioral medicine.

Camilo works as a Head Veterinary Nurse Assistant in our West Village location. Previously working in a general practice in Westchester, Camilo has developed as a nurse into a leadership role. Camilo is passionate about our member experience and creating a smooth day for our team.

Dr. Richardson was our first medical employee at Small Door. She oversees the medical teams, and is the brains behind our medical processes and protocols. Jamie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and has traveled around the world to practice, living in Hong Kong, Bermuda, and New York. Jamie’s interests focus on preventative care, dentistry, and internal medicine; particularly endocrine and metabolic disease. She enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling & hiking.

Dr. Keefe works in our Gramercy practice as a Senior Veterinarian. She has spent years in general practice after graduating from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Erin joins us after about 10 years in general practice and also has a passion for shelter medicine.

Dr. Anne Thitipraserth works in our Williamsburg practice as a Senior Veterinarian. She grew up in southern Illinois, and was originally inspired to pursue a career in veterinary medicine thanks to her first pet, a Yorkshire Terrier named Soma.

Anne moved to NYC and earned her bachelor's degree from New York University. She later began working in the veterinary field and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 2017. Her areas of professional interest include preventative care, cardiology, and internal medicine.

Agata has worked in vet med for over 13 years. Much of this time was spent assisting with surgeries and providing Internal Medicine services to low-income communities in NYC. In November of 2021, she joined Small Door as a Veterinary Nurse. In March of 2022 she helped launch our Gramercy location in her new role as Head Nurse. This year, Agata became our Practice Manager at Gramercy. A driving force for Agata is supporting her peers in upholding a high standard of care for members and their animal friends, while cultivating a supportive work culture.

Dr. London works as a Senior Veterinarian in our Spring Valley location. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at Virginia Tech in 2009 and then went on to earn his Veterinary degree (DVM) at St. George’s University in Grenada. After completing his first three years of didactic training, he then completed his final clinical year of Veterinary school at the University of Georgia in 2013. He later completed a small animal internship in Springfield, Virginia at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center followed by a year of working as a relief veterinarian, seeing patients all over the DMV. He officially took on a full time position as an associate Veterinarian in Arlington Virginia, where he worked until joining the Small Door Team.

Kristin joined us in January of 2022 with an extensive background in HR and People Operations. Previously Kristin worked for healthcare companies such as One Medical and Cityblock Health. With her skillset, we are working on enhancing our employee development program, further building out our policies, and ensuring that we are a fair and equitable employer. She is passionate about building the necessary structure that Small Door needs to help us grow and expand.

Dr. Heller works as a Managing Veterinarian in our Bethesda location. She has practiced general medicine and surgery at a number of veterinary clinics in Maryland, West Virginia and Washington DC, including running a rehabilitation unit for several years. She takes a special interest in wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. She is also keenly focused on pain management and the orthopedic health and fitness of her patients – she believes that when our pets are healthy, comfortable and fit, they keep us healthy, active and fit too!
